The Education Department at Orange City Area Health System is devoted to catering to the needs of our patients, their families, our employees, and the surrounding communities. We offer a wide range of programs that focus on delivering top-quality healthcare-related education. These programs include prepared childbirth classes, diabetes and prediabetes classes and support groups, AHA-accredited courses, and babysitting classes.

BLS | CPR
For Healthcare Providers including students working in a health-related field, EMTs and First Responders and have a current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS card. To remain an active BLS provider, the AHA requires renewal every two years. Do not register for this class unless you have a current BLS card.
For expectant parents who have not taken childbirth classes previously. This three-session class is taught by Birth Center nurses, a lactation consultant, and a physical therapist, and includes information regarding pregnancy, labor and delivery, postpartum, and breastfeeding.
For Healthcare Providers who have not taken (AHA) BLS in the past or who have let their BLS card expire. Cost: $75; Please bring payment with you to class. Please purchase and review the student manual prior to class. (BLS Provider Manual AHS 2020. ISBN 978-1-61669-768-6).
Lobby Bake Sale
For parents who have delivered a child in the past but would like a refresher on reinforcing breathing techniques, pain control, and labor positions. Includes tour of our Birth Center. Participants have the opportunity to join the labor positioning portion of the Parenting Class.
