The Education Department at Orange City Area Health System is devoted to catering to the needs of our patients, their families, our employees, and the surrounding communities. We offer a wide range of programs that focus on delivering top-quality healthcare-related education. These programs include prepared childbirth classes, diabetes and prediabetes classes and support groups, AHA-accredited courses, and babysitting classes.

For Healthcare Providers including students working in a health-related field, EMTs and First Responders and have a current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS card. Concerned about Pre-diabetes? This group class teaches you about healthier eating and exercise habits to improve your health and reduce your chance of having Type 2 Diabetes. Research has shown that losing weight and exercising most days of the week may prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, a serious medical condition that develops more frequently in this population. Taught by Orange City Area Health System’s highly trained diabetes education team.
NOTE: this class is full, so we are not receiving any more registrations. You can register for the June 14 class instead. Thanks! The babysitting class, taught by health system nursing staff and other community professionals, includes child development, first aid, nutrition, and more.
This fun fundraiser at Landsmeer Golf Club in Orange City starts with registration and lunch at 11am, followed by 18 holes of golf and then dinner and prizes. Cost is $100 per golfer. Sponsorship proceeds from the 29th Annual Foundation Golf Classic will be directed to a Scholarship Fund for nursing students. Students from Northwestern College and Dordt University will be awarded $2,000 each to help advance their studies toward their nursing degree.
