Childbirth Education Classes

Expecting a baby is an exciting and joyous time for any parent-to-be. However, the thought of preparing for the birth of your child can be a bit daunting. But, don't worry, we are here to help you out. We understand that pregnancy can be overwhelming, and that's why we offer a variety of education programs that aim to provide you with the knowledge and resources you need to feel more confident, informed, and relaxed throughout your pregnancy journey. Whether it be prenatal care, nutrition and exercise, or labor and delivery, our programs are designed to give you the support you need to make this experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

Pre-registration is mandatory for all classes. If you have any questions, please contact the Orange City Area Health System Education Department. Childbirth classes will be held in Conference Room AB, which is located on the lower level of the Orange City Area Health System.

Classes Offered:

Birth & Beyond Series
For expectant parents who have not taken childbirth classes previously. This three-session class is taught by Birth Center nurses, a lactation consultant, and a physical therapist, and includes information regarding pregnancy, labor and delivery, postpartum, and breastfeeding.

Birth & Beyond Class Registration

Refresher Class
For parents who have delivered a child in the past but would like a refresher on reinforcing breathing techniques, pain control, and labor positions. Includes tour of our Birth Center.

Participants have the opportunity to join the labor positioning portion of the Parenting Class.
