Family Medicine, Sports Medicine
Orange City Area Health System’s team of sports medicine physicians and physical therapists provide care with the most recent advances in medical and rehabilitation methods to help people of any age and ability return to performing their best.
Our therapists know what it takes to return to sport and an active lifestyle, so they will listen to your goals and design a plan that addresses them. They will keep you informed on your progress, give you guidance on how much to be doing at every step of the healing process, and ensure you are ready to perform at your peak again, when you’re given the green light to return to what you want to do. They’ll work with you as little or as much as you need to reach your goals. They will evaluate you to know what deficits to work on first, and then start making things more difficult and sport-like as your body heals and improves its function. Your rehab program might involve time in the pool, manual therapy, specific exercises, modalities to change how you’re experiencing pain, and all the while learning more about your body, how it works, and how you can influence your recovery and long term robustness.
Monday Morning Walk-In Clinic for Injury Screening
Our Monday morning athletic injury walk-in clinic is designed to give prompt attention to recent injuries. The walk-in clinic involves a free screening consultation with a physical therapist, and then advice for self-care and activity level recommendations, a formal physical therapy evaluation and treatment, or a visit with a sports medicine physician. Our therapists will communicate with the physicians and coaches, at your request, to get to the quickest and best outcome for safe return to play.
No appointment is needed between the hours of 7:30am and 9am on Mondays. Just “walk in!” Check-in at our Admissions desk in the Orange City Family Medicine Clinic for injury screenings. Please bring your insurance information.
To schedule an appointment with our Sports Medicine Therapist please call OCAHS PT/OT/SLP Department or by consulting with your family physician. You can start physical therapy without referral in most situations.
