Board-Certified General Surgeon
Dr. Daniel Locker is a board-certified general surgeon who has been providing comprehensive surgical care at Orange City Area Health System since 2022. He is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care with a focus on utilizing advanced techniques to support optimal outcomes and recovery.
Dr. Locker completed his undergraduate education at Northwestern College in Orange City before earning his medical degree from the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine. He went on to complete his general surgery residency at UnityPoint Health Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, where he received extensive training in general surgical procedures and developed a strong foundation in minimally invasive techniques. He currently serves as the Trauma Director at Orange City Area Health System, supporting the delivery of exceptional trauma care across the organization.
In his practice, Dr. Locker provides comprehensive general surgical care, including minimally invasive and robotic-assisted procedures. He utilizes advanced technology, including the da Vinci surgical system, to perform procedures with enhanced precision, smaller incisions, and faster recovery times for patients.
Dr. Locker has a particular interest in general surgery and endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopy and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. He is dedicated to ensuring patients feel informed, comfortable, and confident throughout their surgical experience.
Having been raised in Orange City and completed his undergraduate education locally, Dr. Locker values serving the community he is connected to and takes pride in providing trusted surgical care close to home.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Locker enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He is an avid fisherman who also enjoys traveling and reading. He is actively involved in his church and community groups and values opportunities to give back and stay connected with the people he serves.
