Surgical Technologist

The Surgical Technologist is a member of the surgical team who works with other personnel in delivering quality care to the patient and assumes responsibilities pre-operatively, intra-operatively and post-operatively. He/She demonstrates technical competence and knowledge of aseptic technique, operating room policies and procedures, equipment, and supplies and instruments used in the operating room as well as the sterile processing department. He/she must possess well-developed critical thinking skills and positive interpersonal relationships. The tech utilizes appropriate age-related patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
