Orange City Area Health System Names Wanda Kuiken 2026 Volunteer of the Year
Orange City Area Health System proudly recognized Wanda Kuiken as its 2026 Volunteer of the Year at the organization’s annual volunteer awards banquet held April 23. This year’s event, themed "Growing Gratitude," celebrated the many individuals whose generosity helps the health system and community flourish.
Affectionately known as "Grandma Wanda," Kuiken has been a dedicated volunteer since 2006. She is a familiar and welcoming presence throughout the facility, most often serving in the Gift Garden and at the information desk, where she greets patients and visitors with warmth and kindness.
The Volunteer of the Year honor, referred to this year as the "Golden Tulip Award," recognizes an individual who exemplifies outstanding service, compassion, and commitment. Kuiken was selected for her consistent dedication to creating a positive and comforting experience for patients, visitors, and staff alike.
