Orange City Area Health System implements Dynamic Digital Radiography

Orange City Area Health System (OCAHS) recently launched “X-rays that move” in their Radiology/Imaging department with the implementation of Dynamic Digital Radiography (DDR) from Konica Minolta. They are the first hospital in the area to offer this leading-edge advancement in digital X-ray technology.

“Our mission at OCAHS is to provide top quality healthcare that’s personal and easy to access locally, and enhanced with the best tools and technology,” stated Jenny Campbell, Radiology Manager. “The DDR system replaces fluoroscopy at half the cost, while allowing us to utilize two X-ray rooms seamlessly and functionally.”

The DDR system allows radiologists to observe “anatomy in motion.” It can enhance imaging for fertility studies, orthopedics including full spine X-rays and joint mobility, swallowing studies, and respiratory and lung function studies.

“With this technology we are able to reduce dose, analyze movement, and provide the radiologist with greater clinical information while maintaining patient safety and comfort,” commented Makayla Davidson, Director of Ancillary Services for OCAHS.
