Community Relations Specialist

The Community Relations Specialist plays a key role in advancing the mission of Orange City Area Health System by overseeing the recruitment, training, scheduling, and retention of volunteers. S/he is responsible for all regulatory requirements for volunteers, as well as the volunteer database. This role also supports Orange City Area Health Foundation operations, fundraising activities, donor relations efforts, and community relations initiatives that strengthen the hospital’s engagement with the broader community. S/he works in partnership with health system staff, high schools, colleges and universities, and community organizations. The ideal candidate is a compassionate and dynamic leader with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Cook

The Cook prepares meals for patients, staff, visitors, and for special events/meetings. This person will be considered a floater, learning and working multiple positions, filling in open shifts as needed. This person will be trained for the following shifts: AM Assist, AM Cook, PM Cook. This person may train for more shifts as time goes on. Although there is no set weekend, this person will be expected to fill in occasionally on a weekend and work shifts as needed during the week.

The PRCC Host/Hostess sets a welcoming atmosphere in their assigned cottage by serving meals, attending to cleaning tasks, and spending time with residents. They must have excellent interpersonal skills, be patient with older people, work independently, and be a team player.

The Maintenance Technician oversees building maintenance and repair, including HVAC, electrical work, plumbing, and preventive maintenance. They must have broad technical skills, knowledge of safety regulations, and excellent communication and customer service skills. The successful candidate should be self-motivated, flexible, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

This is a 8-week summer program for students who are interested in working within a critical access hospital setting. Areas of exposure include: Med/Surg, Charge Nurse, ER, OB/Postpartum, Surgery, Infusion Center, and Cardiac Rehab.

The Optometrist provides vision evaluations and assesses visual acuity and overall eye health. Diagnoses and treats various eye conditions, diseases, and injuries. Prescribes corrective lenses or medications as needed and provides pre- and post-operative care for patients. Promotes healthy vision by counseling and educating patients. He/she adheres to the mission, vision and values of the Orange City Area Health System in all aspects of job performance.
