Sports Medicine Clinic at the Orange City Family Medicine Clinic
From active kids, to high school and college athletes, weekend warriors, and senior citizens, Dr. Mark Muilenburg and Dr. Philip Van De Griend in our Musculoskeletal and Sports Medicine Clinic are focused on:
- using ultrasound and ultrasound-guided injections for the evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic injuries
- diagnosing and treating injuries to the body’s joints, muscles,
- medical problems that arise during sports participation, like exercise-induced asthma and concussions
Our doctors work with our athletic trainers and physical therapists to create exercise programs and rehabilitation plans for rapid return to play. They also work closely with orthopedic physicians and can expedite referral when surgery is required.
Our musculoskeletal and sports medicine clinic also offers non-surgical solutions for repetitive motion injuries like carpal tunnel.

Orange City Area Health System’s team of sports medicine physicians, physical therapists, nurses, and ultrasound techs provide care with the most recent advances in medical and rehabilitation methods to help athletes of any age and ability return to performing their sport. The Sports Medicine Clinic builds on the outstanding quality and personalized care at Orange City Area Health System by giving a pathway for athletes to access sports-specific care. Our Sports Medicine Clinic phone line helps athletes receive timely sports-specific attention through evaluation by a physical therapist and/or sports medicine physician to provide treatment and a plan for getting back to full sports participation.
