Sleep Studies

Sleep Studies

At Orange City Area Health System, we are proud to offer a fully accredited sleep lab that is solely dedicated to helping patients improve their quality of life through better sleep. While most people know to seek medical assistance for pain and discomfort, sleep issues are frequently overlooked or disregarded. According to the National Sleep Foundation, approximately 50-70 million Americans suffer from sleep disorders and problems, but unfortunately, due to a lack of awareness and education, over half of them remain undiagnosed or untreated.

Do you have the following signs, symptoms, and/or risk factors of an underlying sleep disorder:

  • Snoring
  • Waking gasping for air
  • Frequent urination at night
  • Morning headaches
  • Trouble concentrating
  • Insomnia
  • Lack of energy
  • Irritability
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Diabetes
  • Heart Disease

Comprehensive Sleep Studies Tailored to You

At OCAHS, we offer a range of sleep study options designed to support your journey toward better sleep and overall health.

Our in-lab,
overnight sleep studies deliver thorough, patient-focused testing in a controlled environment to accurately diagnose sleep disorders. This non-invasive study is conducted by one of our partnered sleep technicians from SomniTech. The study will look at multiple aspects of your sleep, such as brain waves, heart rhythm, respiration, eye movement, and leg movement. We know that sleeping away from home can be a challenge, that is why we have set up our sleep lab to convey the home environment as much as possible. Our sleep lab rooms are spacious with full size beds to help ensure comfort and privacy.

For added convenience, our at-home sleep studies allow you to undergo testing comfortably in your own space without compromising quality. These home sleep study devices are DOT-certified and FDA-approved, ensuring reliable and accurate results. Home sleep tests involve wearing a wrist device, a finger probe, and a chest sensor overnight. These monitor key sleep indicators such as heart rate, oxygen levels, body position, and snoring. The data collected helps our healthcare providers identify conditions like sleep apnea and develop effective treatment plans tailored to your needs.

Additionally, we offer DOT testing to meet specific regulatory requirements to ensure safety and supports driver’s health and career longevity.

Experience sleep testing that prioritizes your comfort, convenience, and health at OCAHS.

Sleep Apnea Treatments

Sleep apnea is a serious sleep disorder that affects millions of individuals, disrupting breathing and reducing sleep quality. At our facility, we offer a range of advanced treatment options tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient.

  • CPAP Therapy: Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) remains the gold standard for treating obstructive sleep apnea. It uses gentle air pressure to keep the airway open during sleep.
  • Inspire® Therapy: A mask-free, implantable device that stimulates airway muscles during sleep, offering an alternative for those who cannot tolerate CPAP. Inspire is FDA-approved and covered by most insurance plans.

Our goal is to help patients achieve restful, restorative sleep through personalized care and the latest innovations in sleep medicine. If you or a loved one is struggling with sleep apnea, contact us to explore the best treatment options for your needs.
