The student-led Christian Leadership Team (CLT) at Remsen St. Mary High School donated funds they raised for cancer awareness to Orange City Area Health System. The students raised $800 at various “Pink Out” fundraising events, and presented a check to Dan McCarty, COO of the health system, during a visit to the hospital on February 28. “It was a great feeling raising money for cancer awareness,” reported Lyndsie Schorg, one of the CLT leaders, “especially because cancer has touched the lives of many, and this was our way to help the fight against cancer.” According to McCarty, the funds will be used to purchase bedside tables for the health system’s Chemotherapy Center, “to help cancer patients be more relaxed and comfortable during their treatments.”
