Therapeutic Health Services at Orange City Area Health System launches new service

Therapeutic Health Services (THS) — providers of physical and occupational therapy located in the medical office building at Orange City Area Health System’s main campus — has recently launched a “Running Injury Clinic.” THS physical therapists in the running clinic are specialists trained to evaluate and treat mechanical dysfunctions due to musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions, allowing them to identify areas of weakness and body mechanics that may limit a person’s running potential. “We perform an evaluation using video analysis of an individual’s running form to determine the causes of any problems,” explains Brad Zwart, Physical Therapist and Orthopedic Certified Specialist with THS. “Using that evaluation we create a specific exercise plan, including important stretches to optimize joint function, and we work with the runner on his or her techniques to help them achieve peak performance.” If a runner — or other athlete — has more significant problems, he or she is then referred to their family doctor or to Dr. Muilenburg in the sports medicine clinic at Orange City Area Health System. Appointments can be made by calling THS at 712-737-5234. Updates on THS and their services can be found on their new Facebook page, search “THS, Inc. – physical therapy.”
