Independent Living at Landsmeer
The Independent Living wing of Landsmeer Ridge is made up of 36 apartments. Originally built with 20 apartments, it has been expanded twice due to demand. The apartments in independent living have been thoughtfully planned for maximum comfort and privacy. There are four sizes of apartments available:
(20) One bedroom: 564 square feet • $62 per day
(5) One bedroom deluxe: 658 square feet • $70 per day
(9) Two bedrooms: 823 square feet • $81 per day
(2) Two-bedroom deluxe: 922 square feet • $87 per day
Second occupant: $11 per day
Garge: $50 per month

Each apartment has its own patio, individually-controlled central heating/air conditioning and emergency call stations. Apartments are unfurnished but have fully equipped kitchens including stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher (tenants may choose to have a dishwasher or have it replaced with a matching cabinet-drawer unit), and garbage disposal. Each apartment has a walk-in closet and two other closets. While each apartment has a designated space for a stackable washer/dryer unit, the Independent Living area also has two laundry rooms, each with two washers and dryers available to tenants at no charge.
Tenants in Independent Living receive a daily continental breakfast and a hot noon meal. Additional meals are available on request. Housekeeping, bedding change, and flat linen services are provided weekly. Scheduled van transportation is provided at no charge at two set times each week to various locations throughout the community. City taxi service is available to all citizens of Orange City five days per week.
Thirty-four garages with openers are available for tenants of either Independent or Assisted Living although they are located at the Independent end of Landsmeer Ridge. Individual storage closets are located near the garages and labeled for each Independent Living apartment.
