Orange City Area Health System welcomed the first baby of 2014 at 8:22am on January 2. AnaPrisca Gloria Hanson was born to Rebecca and Dr. Harrison Hanson, their first girl after three boys. Dr. Hanson, a family practice doctor with the health system, and one of seven who provide OB services, also specializes in fertility care. The health system celebrated a record number of babies born in 2013, a 14 percent increase over the previous year — a total of 251 babies from 33 different communities in Iowa, South Dakota, and Nebraska. The most popular names among the babies born at Orange City Area Health System in 2013 were — boys: Brayden/Breyden; girls (tied): Abigail/Abigayle, Addison/Addyson, and Avery.
