DIABETES FAIR OFFERS LEARNING, TIPS, FOOD, AND PRIZES

Learn tips about how to properly manage your diabetes or help prevent the onset of diabetes at a free diabetes fair hosted by Orange City Area Health System from 2:30-6pm, Thursday November 5. The diabetes fair will be held in the lower level conference rooms of the Orange City Area Health System main campus at 1000 Lincoln Circle SE.

Cari Roorda, RN, diabetes education coordinator for Orange City Area Health System, as well as dietician Colleen King, RD, will be available to talk with fair attendees. In addition, there will be vendors on site for pumps, meters, and self-care devices, and attendees will learn about pre-diabetes, screening tools, helpful recipes, exercise tips, and information about Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. There will also be healthy food available, and door prizes will be awarded.
