Orange City Area Health System Aquatic Center
What is the Aquatic Center?
The Aquatic Center, located in the Medical Office Building on the Orange City Area Health System Campus, offers you an all-season community wellness opportunity. Enjoy low-impact cardiovascular exercise in a pool where the temperature is always a comfortable 84 degrees. Our two lap pools offer an adjustable current to swim against. Even if you’re not a swimmer, you can benefit from walking against the current or engaging in water exercise for stretching and toning.
The pools feature a saline-based sanitizing system. The sodium chloride solution provides a comfortable swimming environment, minimizing eye and skin irritation and reducing the unpleasant chlorine smell. In addition to user comfort, the new system is safe and sustainable. The low salinity environment — nearly identical to human tears — is produced on site, generating 58% less plastic waste than traditional plastic drum pool sanitizing systems, and requiring 50% less acid than the traditional form of chlorine to maintain optimal water pH levels.
Members enjoy the privilege of expanded hours, the ability to schedule a swimming time through the Internet, and use of a private entrance.
