Infusion Center Celebrates 10 Years of Growth and Care Close to Home

Orange City Area Health System is celebrating 10 years since its infusion services department officially became the Infusion Center on September 18, 2016. While the name dates back a decade, the health system has provided infusion services to patients since 2006.

When infusion services began, one registered nurse staffed the service each day, with a second nurse added on Tuesdays to support the higher volume of oncology treatments. Today, two registered nurses staff the Infusion Center every weekday, reflecting the continued growth in patient volume.

That growth has been especially significant in recent years. In the second quarter of 2022, the Infusion Center averaged between six and seven patients per day. By the second quarter of 2026, that average had increased to 14.7 patients per day, more than doubling the center’s average daily patient volume in four years.

The Infusion Center provides treatments prescribed by providers across oncology and hematology, urology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, family medicine, and nephrology. Services include chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, IV antibiotics, and other outpatient infusions and injections.

The center has continued to expand the care available locally. Dr. Travis Snyders began providing oncology and hematology outreach services in 2023, followed by outpatient urology and palliative care telemedicine in 2025 and CADD pump initiation for oncology patients in 2026. Infusion Center nurses also facilitate telemedicine appointments, helping patients connect with specialty providers without traveling farther from home.

Through each stage of growth, the Infusion Center has remained focused on providing timely, accurate, and compassionate care in a comfortable setting. Nurses closely monitor patients during treatment and take time to get to know the people they care for.

This anniversary recognizes the current and former team members who have helped the Infusion Center grow over the past 10 years. Orange City Area Health System also thanks the patients, families, and referring providers who continue to place their trust in the center.
